Activities At the Endewearde Hunt

Thus we welcome all lovers of bows of all types to gather with us for the Endewearde Hunt.  Raise up your pavilion and spend the entire weekend enjoying the glorious spectacle of red and golden leaves reflected in the little pond, crunching through the woods to shoot “wild game”, and enjoying the merriment and fellowship that a warm campfire brings to a chilly fall evening before retiring beneath the stars!

Come on Friday, set up your pavilion, practice your draw and aim, and join us around the bonfire for songs and stories.  If the night is clear, starlight from the constellation of Lyra, the lyre, which shines in our October's sky, shall play its own.

Image of tree roots and forestOn Saturday the meadows and woods of our beautiful rural site shall be ready for merry games of sport lead by Lord Godric of Hamtun, archery marshal and Captain of the North Tower Archery Company.  The Hunt will feature a variety of shooting games including the "woods walk" which is full challenges!  Prizes will be awarded to the top archers of the day!  Also, there will be a Combat Archery Boar Hunt being organized by Lady Aneleda Falconbridge; more Combat Archery events may be possible, marshal availability & time permitting.  There is plenty of room for a heavy list or rapier combat challenge or two if you can find a free and willing marshal – we shall have a marked list field.

Late Saturday afternoon, following the shoot, we shall feature a potables competition with categories of Beers, Meads and Others.

Site Information

The site is both wet and dry – dry as there is no potable water on the site, though we will have containers of drinking water and washing water; WET because if you may drink what you will!  We will have chemical toilet facilities on site.  There are two convenience stores located within 4 miles of the site.  Camping is available at the site; individual campfires will be allowed only in above-ground fire pits.  Pets must be caged or leashed at all times.  For those chilled by the thought of autumn camping, hotels may be found in the nearby towns of Bangor, Bucksport or Newport, all of which are less than half-an-hour from the site.

PS - For our friends in Northern Shores:  We now have Tim Horton's near by!
